SPARTANBURG, SC – Francis Marion University freshman
Carson Jordan fired a career-best two-under 69 score on Tuesday (Apr. 14) during the final round of the Wofford College Invitational Men's Golf Tournament, as the Patriots finished in 12th position in the team standings.
The three-day 54-hole event was played on the 6,720-yard, par-71 Country Club of Spartanburg course.
Francis Marion registered a 302-team score on Tuesday to finish the event with a 909 total. The Patriots were tied for 12th position with Providence College after each of the first two days of competition.
USC Aiken, ranked 19th in NCAA Division II, rallied to win the team title by six strokes over 49th-ranked (Division I) University of South Florida.
Jordan, a native of Conway, S.C., competed as an individual and finished tied for 52nd place in the player's standings with an 81-74-69=224 scorecard. His finish was also the best of his young career, bettering by one spot his showing at last fall's Temple University Invitational.

Josh Dugard shot a final-round 75 and tied for 66th position with a 75-79-75=229 scorecard, as did Florence native and Patriot senior
Pake June (73-76-80=229). Junior
Simon DiMaggio registered a 76 round on Tuesday and finish tied for 58th place with a 73-78-76=227 tally. His round included an eagle on the 530-yard, par-5, 15th hole.
Other Francis Marion golfers included red-shirt freshman
Chan Lee (78-77-76=231) tied for 77th position and sophomore
Leander Neuhaus (80-77-75=232) in 81st place.
Tyler Jones of Western Carolina University took medalist honors with a nine-under-par 67-68-69=204 scorecard.
Francis Marion will head to the Big Sky Conference championship tournament, Apr. 27-29, in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
