Neuhaus shoots 69 as FMU places fourth at Big Sky Tournament

LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ – Sophomore Leander Neuhaus shot a final-round three-under-par 69 on Wednesday (Apr. 29) to help Francis Marion University to a fourth-place finish at the 2026 Big Sky Conference Men's Golf Championship Tournament.

The three-day 54-hole event was played on the 7,066-yard, par-72 Wigwam Resort Gold Course.

Sacramento State University captured the team title after registering a tournament record score of 841, nine strokes ahead of second-place University of Idaho (850).  The Hornets defend their tournament title and win the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Tournament.  The University of Northern Colorado (857) was third, followed by Francis Marion (864), Weber State University (866), and Eastern Washington State University (867).

The Patriots carded a final-round 289 team score after shooting 294 on Monday and 281 on Tuesday.  FMU occupied fourth place at the end of all three rounds.

Neuhaus registered his third Top-10 finish of the year as he tied for sixth place in the players' standings with a 75-68-69=212 scorecard.  He was named a second-team All-Conference performer and the Patriot squad's Most Valuable Player earlier in the week.

Red-shirt freshman Chan Lee shot an even-par 72 and finished in a tie for ninth position, his first career Top-10 showing, with a career-low 214 total.

FMU senior and Florence native Pake June carded an even-par 72 over his final collegiate round to finish in 20th position with a 221 total.  It was his third career Top-20 finish.  The Trinity Collegiate School product reached 100 career rounds wearing the red, white, and blue during Tuesday's second round.

Junior Josh Dugard shot a final-round 76 and tied for 23rd place at 223, while junior Simon DiMaggio shot 78 and finished in 28th position at 232.

Medalist honors came down to a playoff between a pair of Sacramento State teammates, with Gabriel Smith and Jai Bahl both finishing competition at 9-under 207. Ultimately, on playoff hole No. 1, Smith secured a birdie to take home the league's top prize.
