Simon DiMaggio both shot opening-round 73 scores to pace Francis Marion University at the Wofford College Invitational Men's Golf Tournament on Sunday afternoon (Apr. 12).
The three-day 54-hole event is played on the 6,720-yard, par-71 Country Club of Spartanburg course.
For the second round, FMU golfers will tee off between 8:54 and 9:18 a.m. on Monday, beginning on the tenth hole.
Francis Marion registered a 315 team score on Sunday and is tied with Providence College for 12th position in the team standings.
Western Carolina University leads 49th-ranked University of South Florida and Winthrop University by three strokes.
June, a native of Florence and a product of Trinity Collegiate School, and DiMaggio are tied for 39th position in the players' standings. June's round included an eagle on the 516-yard, par-5 first hole.
FMI junior
Josh Dugard is tied for 62nd place after shooting a 75, while red-shirt freshman
Chan Lee (78) is tied for 78th position, and sophomore
Leander Neuhaus (80) is tied for 82nd place.
Patriot freshman
Carson Jordan is competing as an individual and shot an opening-round 81 and is in 85th position.
