Patriot Golfers compete at Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Sophomore Leander Neuhaus shot an opening-round one-over-par 73 to lead Francis Marion University on Sunday (March 15) at the weather-affected Seminole Intercollegiate Men's Golf Tournament hosted by Florida State University.  The Patriots stood 20th in the team standings after the opening 18 holes.

The 54-hole event is being played on the 7,505-yard, par-72 Seminole Legacy course.

Teams were originally set to play 18 holes on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.  However, because of forecasted rain on Monday, teams returned to the course on Sunday afternoon to start round two.

FMU golfers finished 10 or more holes of the second round before darkness set in.  They will conclude the second round after weather clears on Monday afternoon.

Francis Marion tallied a first-round 309 team score.  Florida State sits atop the team standings.

Neuhaus was tied for 22nd position in the players' standings after the first round.

The other Patriot golfers are junior Josh Dugard (76) tied for 52nd place, junior Simon DiMaggio (78) tied for 83rd, and senior Pake June (82) and red-shirt freshman Chan Lee (82) both tied for 108th position.
