HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Sophomore Leander Neuhaus fired a pair of two-under-par 70 rounds and is tied for fourth place in the players' standings, while Francis Marion University as a team is in sixth position after Monday's (Feb. 16) opening two rounds of the 20th-annual Wexford Intercollegiate Men's Golf Tournament.
 
The 54-hole event is being played on the 6,884-yard, par-72 Palmer Black course at the Wexford Golf Club.  Tuesday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m., with the Patriot golfers starting on holes 4,5, and 6.
 
Francis Marion was also sixth after Monday's first round as the Patriots posted a 294 score.  FMU followed that with a 295 tally in the afternoon and stands at 589, just two shots behind fifth-place Xavier University (587).
 
The College of Charleston (567) holds a commanding 13-shot lead over second-place  Mercer University (580) at the top of the team standings.
 
Other Patriot golfers are junior Josh Dugard (76-73=149) tied for 32nd place, senior Pake June (71-79=150) tied for 41st, junior Ryan Bozard (77-75=152) tied for 52nd, and junior Simon DiMaggio (80-77=157) tied for 74th position.
 
Miles Eubanks of the College of Charleston sits atop the leaderboard with a 66-69=135 scorecard, five strokes ahead of Neuhaus.
