Chan Lee fired a final-round 73 to lead Francis Marion University as the Patriots finished in a tie for eighth place at the Temple University Men's Golf Invitational Tournament on Tuesday (Sept. 23).
The 54-hole event was played at The 1912 Club course, a 6,951-yard par-70 layout.
FMU will return to action on Oct. 13-14 at the Phoenix Invitational hosted by Elon University in Burlington, N.C.
Francis Marion registered a 299-team score during Tuesday's final round to finish tied with the host Owls at 877. Drexel University held off LaSalle University by one stroke to win the team title.
Lee finished his first tournament as a Patriot tied for 27th position in the players' standings with a 80-67-73=220 scorecard. Junior
Josh Dugard shot a 74 on Tuesday and also finished at 220.
Overall, sophomore
Leander Neuhaus led the Patriots with a 23rd-place finish as he shot a 76 on Tuesday and finished with a 54-hole total of 219.
FMU junior
Simon DiMaggio and freshman
Carson Jordan both finished in a group tied for 53rd position 227 totals. DiMaggio shot 76 on Tuesday, while Jordan posted an 80 score.
Philip Bondestad of East Carolina University captured medalist honors with a 69-66-69=204 scorecard.
