WAYNESVILLE, NC – Junior
Ryan Bozard played his final nine holes at one-under-par to lead the Francis Marion University men's golf team with a final-round 71, Tuesday (Sept. 16) at the JT Poston Invitational Tournament hosted by Western Carolina University.
The three-day 54-hole event was played on the 6,720-yard, par-70 Waynesville Inn & Golf Club course.
Francis Marion registered a 294 team score on Tuesday to finish 15th in the team standings with an 878 total.
Junior
Simon DiMaggio shot a final-round 74 to lead the Patriot golfers in the final players' standings. He tied for 39th with a 54-hole total of 215 (+5).
FMU sophomore
Leander Neuhaus shot 77 on Tuesday and tied for 65th with a 219 score, while Patriot freshman
Carson Jordan fired a 74 and tied for 75th at 221.
Bozard finished tied for 86th position with a 228 score, while freshman
Cade Jordan shot 75 and placed 88th at 229.
The University of Southern Mississippi edged Kennesaw State University by one stroke to take the team title. Tyler Jones of the host Catamounts earned medalist honors with a 64-71-65=200 scorecard.
Francis Marion will return to the links on Sept. 22-23 at the Temple University Invitational in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
