WAYNESVILLE, NC – Sophomore
Leander Neuhaus fired an even-par 70 on Sunday (Sept. 14) as Francis Marion University stands 15th in the team standings after the opening round of the JT Poston Invitational Tournament hosted by Western Carolina University.
The three-day 54-hole event is being played on the 6,720-yard, par-70 Waynesville Inn & Golf Club course. Second-round tee times will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday
Neuhaus registered five birdies during his round and stands tied for 20th position in the players' standings, six strokes behind the leaders.
Other Patriot golfers include junior
Simon DiMaggio tied for 49th after an opening-round 73, freshman
Carson Jordan tied for 63rd (74 score), freshman
Cade Jordan tied for 79th (76), and junior
Ryan Bozard tied for 87th (79).
Drexel University sits atop the team standings by two strokes over second-place University of Southern Mississippi and WCU.
