BURLINGTON, NC – Francis Marion University sophomore
Leander Neuhaus carded a final-round even-par 71 score on Tuesday (Oct. 14) to complete a record-setting performance as the Patriots finished 15th at the Phoenix Invitational Men's Golf Tournament.
The 54-hole event was played on the 6,871-yard, par-71 Alamance Country Club.
Francis Marion will play the final event of its 2025 fall schedule on Saturday and Sunday at the 55th-annual Furman Intercollegiate presented by Ezelle/Hines Properties.
Neuhaus combined his Tuesday score with rounds of 67 and 68 on Monday to finish the tournament at 206, the lowest 54-hole total in program history – bettering a pair of 208 scores by
Xavier Schwarz and Lars Sandvoll. Neuhaus, who finished the tournament with 16 birdies, tied for seventh in the players' standings, his highest finish as a Patriot.
As a team, FMU tallied a 297-team score over the final 18 holes to finish the event at 873. The host school, Elon University, earned the team title by six strokes over UNC Wilmington.

Ryan Bozard shot a 72 on Tuesday to finish at 215 and in 38th position. It was the lowest three-round total of his FMU career.

Josh Dugard (79-73-76=228) tied for 84th, sophomore and Florence native
Matthew Parker (77-75-79=231) tied for 87th, and red-shirt freshman
Chan Lee (73-83-78=234) in 89th place.
Landon Durham of Elon captured medalist honors with a 70-63-63=196 scorecard.
