FLORENCE, SC – Juniors Fredrika Regner and Elisa Lang rallied in a tie-breaker at No.1 doubles to earn the doubles point and spark Francis Marion University to a 6-1 win over Ashland University, Tuesday afternoon (March 10) in non-conference women's tennis action.

Francis Marion, 7-3, will play host to 17th-ranked Tusculum University on Thursday at 2 p.m. on the Kassab Courts.  Francis Marion is ranked ninth in the Southeast Region.

In doubles play, Patriot sophomore Eva Zannier and senior Magan Head quickly claimed a 6-0 win at No.3, but Ashland (11-14) responded with a victory at the No.2 position.  Regner and Lang rallied to force the tie-breaker at 6-6 and then came-from-behind to win 8-6 in the tie-breaker.

Regner earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No.2 singles, followed by victories from freshman Hermon Mikael (6-2, 6-2) at No.4, and Head (6-2, 6-4) at No.6 to clinch the match. 

Freshman Gabriel Karatantcheva registered a 6-4, 6-1 win at No.3 singles to remain unbeaten on the season at 9-0.  The other Patriot point came from Lang at No.5 singles with a 6-1, 6-4 victory.
