PEMBROKE, SC – After losing two of three doubles matches, 30th-ranked Francis Marion University rallied in singles play to claim a 6-3 road victory over UNC Pembroke, Saturday (March 21) in Peach Belt Conference women's tennis action.
The FMU women improve to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the Peach Belt, while UNCP drops to 5-7 and 1-4.
In doubles play, senior Julia Graf and sophomore Samantha Koelliker won 8-1 at the top position, but the Braves were victorious at spots two and three.
Koelliker and Graf then won straight-set results at Nos.1 and 2 singles, as did freshman Sofia Henning at No.3, junior Christina Graf at No. 4, and junior Mona Piller at No.5.
Both the FMU men's and women's squads will play host to Flagler College on Sunday at 10 a.m. on the Kassab Courts.
