PEMBROKE, NC – Tenth-ranked Francis Marion University swept UNC Pembroke 9-0, Thursday afternoon (Feb. 21) in Peach Belt Conference women's tennis action.
Francis Marion improves to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the PBC.
Both the FMU men's and women's squads will host seventh-ranked Columbus State University on Sunday at 11 a.m. on the Kassab Courts. The match was originally set for Saturday, but has been pushed back one day due to forecasted rain.
Senior Mona Blauen captured a straight-sets win (6-1, 6-2) at the No. 1 singles position to tie former Patriot All-American Tereza Sykorova for third on the team's all-time singles victories list with 54.
After sweeping the three doubles matches, the Patriots dropped only 12 games in the six singles matches.
