NORMAN, OK – The Francis Marion University golf program has earned a 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). This marks the 13th straight year the Patriots have garnered the team accolade.
To be eligible for GCAA team recognition, a school must register a team grade point average of 3.00 or higher for the entire academic year. A GCAA-record 331 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award. Head coach
Mark Gaynor's squad posted a 3.38 GPA for the 2025-26 season.
Francis Marion was one of 174 NCAA Division I members nationwide to earn this honor, and the Patriots were one of nine Palmetto State institutions.
The nine-member FMU squad included senior
Pake June (Florence, SC); juniors
Ryan Bozard (Hollywood, SC),
Simon DiMaggio (Hollywood, SC), and
Josh Dugard (Orpington, Great Britain); sophomores
Leander Neuhaus (Hamburg, Germany) and
Matthew Parker (Florence, SC); and freshmen
Chan Lee (Cancun, Mexico),
Cade Jordan (Conway, SC), and
Carson Jordan (Conway, SC).
On the course, Francis Marion finished fourth at the Big Sky Conference Championship and registered a 295.57 team stroke average.
