FERRUM, VA – The Francis Marion University women's tennis team captured its third consecutive Conference Carolinas win with a 6-1 road victory over Ferrum College on Saturday afternoon (March 21).
 
Francis Marion improves to 4-5 overall and 3-1 in league play.  The Patriots will host Lander University on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in a non-conference match-up.
 
In doubles action, FMU gained a default win at the No.3 position, while sophomore Lara Lanno and freshman Alyssa Boschin won 6-0 at the No.2 spot and junior Magdalena Skachova and freshman Janka Juhasz were victorious 6-3 at the top position.
 
In singles action, Francis Marion received two default wins at the No.5 and 6 positions to go ahead 3-0.  Juhasz claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win at No.3 singles, while senior Lian Timmermans won 6-0, 6-0 at No.4 and Skachova won 7-5, 6-2 at No.2.
