Men's Golf

Golfing Pair named to Academic All-District squad

Two Francis Marion University golfers, senior Xavier Schwarz and junior Pake June, have been named to the College Sports Communicators Men's At-Large Teams Academic All-District Team for 2025.  Both golfers earn the honor for the second consecutive year.

Selected by CSC, the All-District Team recognizes the area's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the course and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

June, a native of Florence, owns a 3.325 cumulative grade point average as a business management major.

A three-year letterman, he is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma national college athlete honor society and has been named to the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll five times.

On the course this past season, he competed in six of 11 tournaments and registered a 76.00 stroke average with three rounds of par or better.  His best finish was a 16th-place showing at Western Carolina University's 2025 Peoples Golf Championship at Sea Palms Resort.  He tied for 39th at the season-ending Southland Conference Tournament.

Schwarz, a native of Virginia Water, Surrey, England, recently graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing, and finished with a 3.533 cumulative grade point average.

He is a two-time selection to the Southland Conference's Academic All-Conference squad, and was named FMU's team most valuable player for the second consecutive year.  He is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, served on the University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was placed on the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll for all six of his semesters.

On the course, he registered a team-best 73.90 stroke average for 11 events, recorded seven rounds of par or better, and his best finish was a seventh-place showing at the Southland Conference Tournament, where he produced a 71-70-72=213 scorecard.

June is a graduate of Trinity Collegiate School, while Schwarz is a product of ACS Egham International School.
