Lara Lanno have been named to the Conference Carolinas 2025 Women's Tennis All-Conference Team. Both players were third-team selections.
Lanno, a native of Pforzheim, Germany, played near the top of the Patriot singles ladder this year. She posted a 9-6 record, including a 6-3 against conference opponents. She was 3-1 at the No.1 position and 6-5 at No.2 singles.
She played No.1 doubles all season and posted a 6-8 record, 4-5 in conference play.
She was named the conference Freshman of the Month for February.
Venghaus, a native of Senden, Germany, posted an 8-1 singles record, including an unbeaten 7-0 mark in conference play. She was 1-0 at No.5 singles and 7-1 at the No.6 spot.
In doubles play, she registered a 9-5 mark, including 7-2 against conference opponents. Her record included a 1-0 mark at No.2 doubles and 8-5 at the No.3 position.
Venghaus is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection and was named the conference Player of the Week once during the 2025 campaign.
Francis Marion finished the regular season with an 8-8 record and tied for sixth in the conference standings with a 6-4 mark.
The Patriots will face Young Harris College on Thursday (Apr. 24) at 2 p.m. in the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament in Sumter, S.C. A victory would advance FMU to the quarterfinals on Friday at 9 a.m. against third-seeded Barton College. Both semifinal matches are set for Saturday at 9 a.m. and the championship match is slated for Sunday at 9 a.m.
Lanno is a product of Kepler-Gymnasium Pforzheim and is majoring in business management, while Venghaus graduated from Joseph-Haydn-Gymnasium and is majoring in management and marketing.
