Barbera and Lloyd-Evans tabbed for All-Conference Team

Francis Marion University seniors Martin Barbera and Harri Lloyd-Evans have been selected to the Conference Carolinas 2025 Men's Tennis All-Conference Team.  Barbera was a second-team selection and Lloyd-Evans was a third-team pick.

Barbera, a native of Morelia, Mexico, earns All-Conference honors for the third time.  He has played No.1 singles this season and registered a 7-9 record, including 5-4 against conference opponents.

He is 12-4 in doubles play at the No.1 position, including 6-2 in conference play, and is currently riding an eight-match winning streak.

He was named the conference Player of the Week once this season, and is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection.  He currently stands 13th on the Patriot career singles wins list with a 50-26 mark and owns 47 career doubles victories.

Lloyd-Evans, a native of Newport, South Wales, United Kingdom, earns All-Conference recognition for the second time in his career.

He owns an 11-6 singles record this year, including 6-3 against conference opponents.  His total includes a 2-1 record at No.2 singles and a 9-5 mark at the No.3 spot.  He also owns an 8-7 doubles record at the No.2 position, including 4-4 in conference play.

Lloyd-Evans has career win totals of 43 in singles and 29 in doubles.

Francis Marion finished the regular season with an 11-6 record and tied for second in the conference standings with a 7-2 mark. 

FMU is seeded third and will play in the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament in Sumter, S.C., on Friday (Apr. 25) at 1 p.m. against the winner of sixth-seeded Emmanuel University (Ga.) and seventh-seeded Young Harris.

A quarterfinal win for the Patriots would pit them against second-seeded Converse University in the semifinals on Saturday at 1 p.m., with the championship match set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

Barbera is a product of Dwight Global High School and is majoring in sports management, while Lloyd-Evans graduated from Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw High School and is majoring in sports marketing.
