KERRVILLE, TX – Freshman
Leander Neuhaus fired a three-under-par 69 on Tuesday (Apr. 22) to help lead Francis Marion University to a fifth-place standing after the second day of the Southland Conference Men's Golf Tournament.
The three-day 54-hole championship event is being played on the 7,253-yard, par 72 The Club at Comanche Trace (Hills/Creeks course) layout. The final round will begin at 11 a.m. (eastern time) on Wednesday.
Francis Marion was fifth after Monday's opening round, but the Patriots improved their team score by 10 strokes on Tuesday, shooting an even-par 288.
Augusta University leads the team standings with a 565 total, followed by University of Incarnate Word (569), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (579), Lamar University (580), and Francis Marion (586) to round out the Top 5.
FMU senior
Xavier Schwarz followed Neuhaus with a 70 on Tuesday and is fifth in the players standings with a 36-hole total of 141. Neuhaus is tied for 12th at 145.
Patriot sophomore
Simon DiMaggio shot 74 during the second round and is tied for 29th position at 151. Florence native and FMU junior
Pake June is tied for 39th with a 77-75=152 scorecard and sophomore
Ryan Bozard is tied for 41st place at 74-79=153.
