Box Score GAFFNEY, SC – Senior Kim Venghaus and freshman Maia Warlies each contributed a pair of wins as Francis Marion University defeated Limestone University 4-1, Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 25) in non-conference women's tennis action.
 
Francis Marion evens its season mark at 2-2.  The Patriots will play at Lander University on Saturday (March 1) at 11 a.m.
 
Francis Marion took a 1-0 advantage by claiming the doubles point. Warlies and Venghaus won 6-0 at No.3 doubles followed by a 6-3 victory by senior Sophia Hansen and freshman Fatima Hernandez Huerta at the No.2 position.
 
Venghaus quickly upped the margin to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No.6 singles and Warlies followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No.5 spot to pushed the lead to 3-0.
 
Limestone claimed a straight-sets win at No.1 singles to trim the margin to 3-1, but Patriot freshman Lara Lanno provided the match-clinched point with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No.2 spot.
