PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA – Led by sophomore
Josh Dugard's one-under-par 69 score, Francis Marion University leads the team standings after Saturday's (Sept. 21) opening day of the Temple University Invitational Golf Tournament.
The second and final round will commence at 7 a.m. on Sunday at The 1912 Club. Its course measures 7,062 yards and is a par-70 layout. The FMU golfers will start their second round between 9:50 and 10:30 a.m.
The Patriots tallied a 284 team score on Saturday and lead LaSalle University by one stroke. Drexel University (286) is third with Dartmouth College and Lehigh University (both at 289) rounding out the Top 5. The host Owls are in sixth position at 290.
Dugard is tied for fourth in the players' standings. He trails the individual leader, Jake Roth of Lehigh, by only three strokes.
Other FMU golfers in the event include freshman
Leander Neuhaus, who is tied for seventh position after shooting even par (70). Freshman and Florence native
Matthew Parker shot a 71 in his first collegiate action and is tied for ninth.
Patriot senior
Xavier Schwarz is tied for 27th after a 74 and junior and Florence native
Landen Seiffert (78) is tied for 38th.
