FRISCO, TX – Francis Marion University senior
Xavier Schwarz has been named to the Southland Conference's annual All-Academic Golf Team that was announced on Friday (May 24).
Schwarz, a native of Virginia Water, Surrey, England, was a first-team selection. He owns a 3.567 cumulative grade point average as a marketing major.
On the course, he registered a 74.19 stroke average for 11 events (32 rounds) during the 2023-24 season. He recorded eight rounds of par or better, including a pair of 68 rounds. His best finish was a tie for fourth place at Appalachian State University's Irish Creek Collegiate Tournament in April, where he produced a 71-70-68=209 scorecard.
He was named this year's FMU team most valuable player. He is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma national college athlete honor society and has been named to the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll all four of his semesters.
Schwarz is a graduate of ACS Egham International School, and attended Robert Morris University for two years before transferring to FMU.
The All-Academic Teams are voted on by a head coach, sports information director, and an academic/compliance staff member from each Southland Conference institution. Student-athletes must possess a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution to qualify for All-Academic selection.
