Erskine (12-2, 3-0) took a 1-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches by 6-3 scores.

As singles play commenced, the Flying Fleet upped their margin to 3-0 with straight-set decisions at positions No.5 and No.3.

Polina Gontaryk drew the Patriots to within 3-1 with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No.4 singles. However, Erskine clinched the match with a 6-1, 7-5 decision at No.2 singles.

Gabriel Karatantcheva supplied the other FMU point with a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (13-11) win at No.1 singles over Emma Bentz, the two-time Conference Carolinas Player of the Year.
