BURLINGTON, NC – Senior
Xavier Schwarz recorded rounds of 72 and 70 on Monday (Oct. 14) to lead Francis Marion University to a ninth-place showing at the Elon Phoenix Invitational Men's Golf Tournament.
The 54-hole event is being played at the 6,871-yard, par-71 Alamance Country Club course. The final round will start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday with a shotgun start.
Francis Marion carded identical rounds of 289 and is in the middle of the 18-team field with a 578 total. UNC Greensboro (555) sits atop the team standings, seven strokes ahead of second-place East Carolina University (562).
Schwarz is tied for 16th position in the players' standings. FMU freshman
Leander Neuhaus (69-77=146) and sophomore
Josh Dugard (73-73=146) are tied for 40th, while sophomore
Simon DiMaggio (75-72=147) is tied for 51st and sophomore
Ryan Bozard (76-74=150) is tied for 74th.
