Francis Marion University women's tennis head coach
Jay Evans has announced the signing of Victoria Conde Vendrell of Paris, France, to a national letter of intent to attend FMU and play for the Patriots this spring.
Conde Vendrell, 5-4, is a product of Lycee Jean de la Fontaine High School, where she played for coach Julien Lepors.
"She is a left-hander, and comes from a good tennis family – her sister Ana is a senior on the Boise State University squad," said Evans. "She has posted a solid French ranking, and will arrive on campus and contribute right away. As a southpaw, she will help solidify our doubles effort, and she is a good late addition to round out our recruiting class for this year."
Despite a young roster in 2022, FMU registered a 14-6 record and a No.72 final national ranking. The win total was a 10-win improvement over the 2021 campaign, and the Patriots placed second during the regular season in their first year as a member of Conference Carolinas.
