HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Seniors Marc Casullo and Alessandro Caselli both fired second-round two-under-par 70 scores to help Francis Marion University rally to an 11th-place standing  on Monday (Feb. 26) at the Patriots' own 13th-annual Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Men's Golf Tournament.

The tournament is being played on the 6,913-yard, par 72 Wexford Plantation course.  The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

The University of Georgia fired a second-round 277 team score to grab a one-stroke lead over TCU in the team standings, 567-568.  The University of Memphis is third with a 575 tally, while Furman University and High Point University round out the Top 5, both at 579.

FMU shot a 304 team score over the opening 18 holes on Monday morning, but rebounded with a 288 mark during the afternoon round to finish at 592. The Patriots stand only two strokes out of the Top 10 and 13 strokes out of the Top 5.

Casullo carded rounds of 71 and 70 on Monday and is 11th in the individual standings with a 3-under 141 tally.

Patriot senior Callum McGuigan (76-74) and Caselli (80-70) are tied for 46th with 150 scores, while junior Lars Sandvoll (77-74=151) is tied for 52nd and freshman Michael Rials (82-80=162) is tied for 86th position.

Elliott Grayson of the University of Akron shot the low round on Monday (66) during the afternoon portion to assume the top spot in the players' standings with a 136 total.
