FLORENCE, SC - Rain that pushed through Florence on Friday (April 22) washed out all but two of the scheduled quarterfinal matches of the 2016 Peach Belt Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Tournament at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.

Among the matches suspended until Saturday morning was the women's quarterfinal match between fifth-seeded Francis Marion University and fourth-seeded Georgia College.  Georgia College held a 2-1 lead as the two squads had just begun singles play.  The match will be resumed on Saturday at 8 a.m.

Also to be resumed on Saturday at 8 a.m. will be second-seeded Columbus State University and seventh-seeded University of North Georgia, which the higher-seeded Cougars lead 3-0.

Earlier in the day, top-seeded Armstrong State University defeated eighth-seeded Augusta University 5-0 and third-seeded Flagler College beat sixth-seeded USC Aiken 5-0.

All the men's quarterfinal matches set for Friday were re-scheduled for Saturday morning at 9:45 a.m., including FMU's match-up with Columbus State.

The women's semifinals and elimination matches are now set for Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., followed at 4:30 p.m. by the men's semifinals and elimination matches.

Sunday's schedule remains intact with the women's championship, third-place, and fifth-place matches at 9 a.m., and the men's championship, third-place, and fifth-place matches at 1 p.m.

Admission to the tournament is free.
