Florence, S.C. (April 9, 2014) – The 41st-ranked Francis Marion University women's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory over Peach Belt Conference foe UNC Pembroke Wednesday afternoon at the final match of the season on the Kassab Courts.
FMU improves its overall record to 13-3 and its PBC mark to 9-2. The Patriots will close out the regular season with trips to Armstrong Atlantic State University and Flagler College on Saturday and Sunday, respectively (April 12-13).
The Patriots earned victories in the top three singles positions. Freshman Samantha Koelliker, junior Julia Graf, and sophomore Nora Westbye all won their matches by 6-1, 6-1 tallies.
The 16th-ranked team of Graf and Westbye earned a victory in the number-two doubles-spot by an 8-4 advantage. In the top doubles-spot, Koelliker and senior Kimberley Hurter blanked the UNCP duo 8-0.
