AUGUSTA, GA – The 14th-ranked Francis Marion University women's tennis team lost to eighth-ranked Columbus State University 5-1, Friday afternoon (April 15) in the quarterfinal round of the 2011 Peach Belt Conference Tournament in Augusta, Ga.
Francis Marion falls to 11-7, while CSU improves to 15-4. The Patriots trailed 2-1 after doubles play and then lost straight-set singles decisions at positions No. 3, 4, and 6.
The FMU doubles team of Kerry Hall and Kimberley Hurter captured Francis Marion's lone point with a 9-7 win at the No. 2 doubles spot.
