Sophomore guard Kiara Croskey of the Francis Marion University women’s basketball team has been named the McDonald’s Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Jan. 5-11.

The Sumter, S.C., native averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 4.0 steals per game in two contests last week.  She shot 54.1 percent from the floor and was 9-of-9 at the foul line, while averaging 36 minutes per game.  Her week included 23 points, nine assists, and four steals against UNC Pembroke and 12 points, four assists, and four steals versus Young Harris College.

Francis Marion will play a pair of Conference Carolinas road games this week: Tuesday at Barton College and Saturday at Emmanuel (Ga.) University.  The next home game for the Patriots will be an MLK Day contest against Ferrum College at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19.
