Senior Harri Lloyd-Evans of the Francis Marion University men's tennis team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of March 24-30, 2025.
A native of Newport, South Wales, United Kingdom, Lloyd-Evans went 3-0 at No.3 singles and 2-1 at No.2 doubles last week as Francis Marion won three matches.
He registered a 6-2, 6-1 singles win and a 6-3 doubles win (along with teammate Austin Vienna) during FMU's 5-2 home victory over the University of Montevallo. He also recorded a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 singles win during a 4-3 road win at Emmanuel University, and collected a 6-4, 6-3 singles win and a 7-6 (7-3) doubles win during a 5-2 road victory at North Greenville University. In the match against NGU, he provided the clinching doubles win and the match-clinching singles win.
Francis Marion, now 7-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play, will host Chowan University on Wednesday (Apr. 2) at 2 p.m. on the Kassab Courts. The Patriots will then travel to Lees-McRae College on Friday, Apr. 4, for a 1 p.m. match and to King University (Tenn.) on Saturday, Apr. 5, for a 10 a.m. match.
