Francis Marion University Athletics

Senior Ryan Hunter of the Francis Marion University men's track and field team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of March 3-9, 2025.

The Blythewood, S.C., native competed in the season-opening UNCW Seahawk Invitational on March 7-8.  He broke his own school record and set a provisional national qualifier distance in the javelin, finishing second to a UNCW athlete, with a toss of 59.55 meters He also placed sixth in the 100 meters (11.06) and 16th in the 200 meters (22.50) and was part of 4x100 meter relay team that placed fourth (43.61).

Francis Marion's next competition will be March 21-22 at the Shamrock Invitational Meet in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
