Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Grabeel of the Francis Marion University women's soccer team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Nov. 11-17, 2024.

A native of Gordonsville, Va., Grabell recorded 11 saves in two matches while allowing only one score as the Patriots claimed their first-ever Conference Carolinas Tournament championship.  She registered a career-high eight saves in a 2-1 semifinal victory over UNC Pembroke and then made three stops in a 1-0 title game win over Belmont Abbey College.

She was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Eighth-seeded Francis Marion (12-2-4) will play top-seeded and second-ranked Columbus State University (19-0-1) in the first round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament on Friday at 3 p.m. in Columbus, Ga.
