WAYNESVILLE, NC – Sophomore Carson Jordan fired a one-under 70 on Monday (Sept. 14) to lead Francis Marion University during the second round of the JT Poston Invitational hosted by Western Carolina University.

The three-day 54-hole event is being played on the 6,735-yard, par-71 Waynesville Inn & Golf Club.

Francis Marion bettered its opening round score by two strokes to 288. The Patriots are in 16th position in the team standings with a 578 tally.

Carson Jordan carded birdies on his opening three holes of the second round and ultimately shot a four-under 32 on the back nine. He finished his round with a score of one-under 71 and climbed 13 spots on the individual leaderboard to move into a tie for 77th.

Sophomore Chan Lee continues to lead the Patriots following 36 holes of play with a two-under 140 after shooting an even-par 71. He tallied three birdies and 12 pars to sit in a tie for 32nd place.

Other Patriot golfers include freshman Matthew Griffiths, who shot a 73 on Monday and is tied for 59th position at 143, sophomore Cade Jordan tied for 95th (75+77=152 scorecard), and freshman Yu-Hsiang Shih in 99th place (81+74=155).

NC State leaped into first place in the team standings with a score of 26-under, while Lipscomb and Virginia Tech each sit four strokes off the lead.
