AUGUSTA, GA – Sophomore Chan Lee and freshman Yu-Hsiang Shih recorded top 20 finishes to lead Francis Marion University to a tie for fifth place in the team standings at the Augusta Jaguar Fall Invitational on Tuesday (Sept. 1).

The 54-hole event was played at Forest Hill Golf Club, a 7,086-yard, par-72 layout.

FMU will return to action on Sept. 13-15 at the JT Poston Invitational hosted by Western Carolina University in Waynesville, N.C.

The Patriots posted a 295 team score in Tuesday's final round to finish tied with Georgia State University at 880. The host Jaguars cruised to an 11-stroke victory after shooting a 23-under 841 to earn the team title.

Lee registered his second career top 20 finish after tying for 12th overall to lead the Patriots. He shot two-under 214 (72-68-74) while converting 10 birdies and 36 pars over the two-day event.

Shih had a stellar debut for Francis Marion, climbing five spots on the final day to tie for 17th overall with an even-par 216. Following an opening round 76, he fired back-to-back two-under 70s with a team-best 13 birdies made.

Senior Josh Dugard tied for 36th overall as he shot a 75 on Tuesday and finished with a 54-hole total of 224. Senior Ryan Bozard and freshman Matthew Griffiths both finished in a group tied for 55th position with 230 totals.

FMU also featured five Patriots competing as individuals in a field of 76 golfers.

Senior Simon DiMaggio scored a six-over 222 (72-76-74) and made an eagle on the 361-yard, par-four 2nd hole during the third round to tie for 30th place.

Sophomore Cade Jordan carded a career-low 74 in the first and third rounds to tie for 36th overall with an eight-over 224.

Fellow sophomore Carson Jordan (75-73-78=226) tied for 45th position and freshman Eli Jones (78-79-75=232) placed 60th in his debut. Freshman Rohan Neat finished one spot behind in a tie for 61st on the leaderboard (82-76-76=234).
