FMU Trio earns Academic All-District honors

Three members of the Francis Marion University men's tennis team – seniors Martin Barbera and Austin Vienna and junior Rodrigo Moura Ludgero – have been named to the College Sports Communicators Men's Tennis Academic All-District Team for 2025.

Selected by CSC, the All-District Team recognizes the area's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Barbera, a native of Morelia, Mexico, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management (sports management) and finished with a cumulative grade point average of 3.529.

A four-year letterman, he was named the conference Player of the Week five times during his career and finishes 13th on the all-time singles wins list at FMU with a 51-26 mark and tied for 10th in doubles victories with a 48-27 record.
