Miguel Maia has been named to the College Sports Communicators Men's Tennis Academic All-District Team for 2026.
Selected by CSC, the All-District Team recognizes the area's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Maia, a native of Barcelona, Spain, owns a 3.897 cumulative grade point average as a management major.
This past season, he played No.1 singles and No.2 doubles and earned second-team Conference Carolinas All-Conference honors. He registered a 9-8 singles record and a 9-11 doubles mark.
He was named the team's Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row. He has also been placed on the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll and the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll each of his first two semesters at Francis Marion.
He helped lead the Patriots to an 11-10 record and the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2026 Division II Academic All-America® program.
Maia is a graduate of La Farga School.
