FMU pair earns All-Region track and field honors

Francis Marion University senior Ryan Hunter and freshman Rileigh Lacy have been named to the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field All-Southeast Region Team announced on Wednesday (May 14) by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Hunter earned the honor for the javelin, while Lacy competed in the pole vault.

Hunter, a native of Blythewood, S.C., won the javelin competition at the 2025 Conference Carolinas Meet in Myrtle Beach, S.C., with a school-record throw of 64.30 meters.  That throw was also the best mark of the season for all competitors in the region.

Lacy, a native of Darlington, S.C., won the pole vault at the Conference Carolinas Meet with a jump of 3.39 meters.  Earlier in the season at the FMU Patriots Invitational Meet on April 4, she set a school record with a vault of 3.70 meters, the second-best mark of the season among all competitors in the Southeast.

Hunter, who has one year of eligibility left, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree in management (supply chain management).  He is a product of Blythewood High School.

Lacy is a product of Darlington High School and is majoring in nursing.
