In a rare double occurrence, Francis Marion University sophomore point guard
Kiara Croskey has been selected as both the Conference Carolinas women's basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 17-23.
A native of Sumter, S.C., Croskey averaged 19.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 4.5 steals per game in two wins last week. She connected on 48.3 percent of her field goal attempts and was 10-of-11 at the foul line, while averaging 34.3 minutes per contest in the two games.
She began her week with 22 points, a career-high 13 rebounds, six assists, and five steals in a 68-63 win over Lenoir-Rhyne University and then registered 17 points, four rebounds, five assists, and four steals in a 74-67 conference victory over Shorter University.
For the season, Croskey is averaging 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 4.3 steals per game as the Patriots have a 3-1 mark. She leads Conference Carolinas in total steals, and ranks sixth in scoring and third in assists per game.
Francis Marion will host the University of Mount Olive on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students, with FMU students being admitted free with identification.
Croskey was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week three times during her freshman campaign.
She is majoring in healthcare administration and is a product of Sumter High School.
