MacKenzie Feagin posted a career-high 14 points as Francis Marion University returned from final exams to record a 76-60 win at Young Harris College, Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 13) in Conference Carolinas women's basketball play.

Francis Marion evens both its overall mark at 4-4 and its conference record at 1-1. The Patriots play a non-conference game at Augusta University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., before playing their home opener in the newly-renovated Smith University Center on Monday at 5:30 p.m. against Converse University.

Taylor registered her point total on 8-of-16 shooting. Feagin, a Trinity Collegiate School product, drained 4-of-10 shots from behind the three-point arc to help the Patriots to a season-high 10 three-pointers made.

Aniyah Oliver added 11 points and seven assists, while junior forward
Kiana Lee also scored 11 points.

JaMari Frederick and Trinity Edwards both scored 13 points to lead Young Harris (3-7, 0-2).

FMU jumped out to an early 8-3 advantage, but Young Harris scored eight straight points to assume an 11-8 lead. The Mountain Lion lead grew to 15-10 after a three-pointer by Edwards with 2:26 left in the opening period, but a pair of three-pointers by Feagin helped fuel a 10-2 FMU run to close the quarter.

Young Harris quickly knotted the score at 20-20 to open the second quarter. The Mountain Lions stretched their margin to 29-26 approaching the midway point of the period. Jump shots by Taylor, sophomore
Trinity Adams, and Feagin kick-started a 16-4 spurt to end the half and gave the Patriots the lead (42-33 at halftime) for good.

A stick-back hoop by Taylor produced the first double-digit margin (44-33) early in the third quarter. A lay-in by Edwards capped a mini-run by Young Harris that trimmed the margin to 47-43, but a three-pointer by Oliver and two free throws from freshman center
Trinity Delaney pushed the advantage back to 52-43.

Three-pointers by Feagin and Taylor helped expand the FMU lead from seven points to 14 midway through the fourth period and the Patriots were not threatened again. The final margin of 16 was Francis Marion's largest of the game.

Francis Marion connected on 44.6 percent of its field goal attempts and was 16-of-20 at the foul line. The Mountain Lions shot 33.8 percent from the field, but struggled at the free throw stripe making only 10-of-26 attempts.
