Box Score After scoring a game-high 14 points in the Patriots' 70-51 victory over Pfeiffer, senior Erin Pinkett has been named the Francis Marion University Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 2.
The 5-1 guard scored all 14 of her points in the opening half, and played a key role in the Patriots 18-9 run that pushed their lead to double digits. Pinkett was a perfect 4-4 from three-point range in the first half and added an assist.
The Cambridge, Md., native has gotten off to a solid start in her final season as a Patriot. She is averaging 9.2 points per game and is shooting a team-high 41.9 percent from behind the arc. Pinkett is also averaging 2.0 rebounds per game, and has handed out six assists.
Pinkett and the rest of the Patriots are riding a four-game winning streak, and open Peach Belt Conference play tonight against Georgia College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m., inside the Smith University Center.
