Senior forward Bryce Beamer of the Francis Marion University men's basketball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 13-19.
The Odessa, Fla., native averaged 25.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in three road contests last week, including a trip to his home state of Florida. He shot 57.7 percent from the floor, including 9-of-21 on three-point attempts, while also recording five steals and two blocks, and only committing one turnover. He averaged 31.3 minutes per game.
His week included a 17-point, four-rebound outing in limited minutes during a 123-114 win at Coker University. He followed that with a 28-point, 14-rebound performance at the University of Tampa and a 30-point, 10-rebound showing at Saint Leo University.
Francis Marion continues its 10-game road swing to begin the season with a 2 p.m. contest at Wingate University on Wednesday (Nov. 22).
