Junior outside hitter Madilyn Gartner of the Francis Marion University volleyball team has been named the McDonald’s Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Oct. 27-Nov.2, 2025.
The Albertville, Minn., native averaged 5.50 kills, 2.00 digs, and 6.58 points per set in two matches last week with a .377 hitting percentage.  She also served five aces, had one assist, and recorded three blocks.  Her week included an 18-kill and 6-digs performance with a .385 hitting percentage in a 3-0 home win over Barton College on Oct. 29.  The 18 kills equaled the conference season-high for kills in a 3-set match.  She finished the week on Saturday with 15 kills, six digs, five aces, and a .367 hitting percentage in a 3-0 road win at Ferrum College.
She helped FMU extend its winning streak to eight straight matches as the Patriots improved to 18-8 and lead the latest Conference Carolinas KPI rankings. 
During the week she surpassed 700 kills for her career.
FMU will host three matches this week: UNC Pembroke on Wednesday (Nov. 5) at 6 p.m., Belmont Abbey College on Friday at 6 p.m., and Chopan University for Senior Day on Saturday at 1 p.m.
