Junior Alexandre Frigout of the Francis Marion University men’s tennis team has been named the McDonald’s Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Sept. 22-28, 2025.
A native of Roseville, Calif., Frigout claimed the Intercollegiate Te3nnis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional Flight B singles championship after posting an unblemished 5-0 record over the weekend. Frigout entered the event as the No. 2 seed and opened the competition with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Andy Huynh of Coker University on Friday afternoon (Sept. 26).
The following day, Frigout rallied to a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5) victory over Spencer Dorosheff of Anderson University before advancing through the quarterfinals with another comeback win 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) against Samuel Guzon of Young Harris College.
On Sunday, he won his semifinals match with a 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-2) victory versus Tusculum University’s William Gee. Frigout captured the championship with a straight-sets 6-4, 6-1 win over Noah Pawirodirjo of Young Harris to win the Flight B singles title.
The Patriots will compete on Oct. 11-12 at the FMU Invitational hosted at the Dr. Eddie Floyd/Florence Tennis Center.
