Graduate student right fielder Will Hardee of the Francis Marion University baseball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 3-9, 2023.
The Evergreen, S.C., native batted .615 (8-for-13) in three games (all wins) with eight runs scored, two doubles, and three runs batted in. He recorded a .769 slugging percentage and a .688 on-base percentage, and was 2-for-2 in stolen bases. He posted multiple hits in all three games, helped extend the team's winning streak to 8 games, while also extending his 12-game hitting streak and his streak of safely reaching base to 24 consecutive games.
Francis Marion (21-19) will host Coker College on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Barton College for a three-game Conference Carolinas series this weekend -- a single game on Saturday at 3 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday at 1 p.m.
