Senior first baseman Taylor Watford of the Francis Marion University softball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 27-Apr. 2, 2023.

The Lamar, S.C., native batted .643 (9-for-14) in four games last week -- all wins.  She scored four runs and recorded three doubles, a homer, and nine runs batted in.  She also registered an on-base percentage of .706 and a slugging percentage of 1.071, while not committing an error in 22 fielding chances (21 putouts, 1 assist).  She had hits in all four games, including three multi-hit games.

Francis Marion hosts Barton College for a Conference Carolinas doubleheader on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the team's only action this week.
