Francis Marion University Athletics

Senior defender Sebastian Garcia of the Francis Marion University men's soccer team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 19-25, 2022.

Garcia played all 180 minutes of a pair of home conference wins last week: 3-0 over the University of Mount Olive and 3-1 over 18th-ranked North Greenville University.  The native of Asuncion, Paraguay, helped anchor a defense that allowed only one goal on eight shots in the two matches.  The goal was the only shot on frame allowed in the two matches.  He also registered one shot in the win over Mount Olive and did not commit a foul in the two matches.

Francis Marion will play host to Chowan University on Wednesday at 7 p.m., before traveling to play at Belmont Abbey College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
