Freshman Katie Kemp of the Patriot Volleyball Team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of August 22-28, 2022
 
In her first three collegiate matches, the outside hitter from Plano, Texas, averaged 3.18 kills and 1.45 digs per set, while hitting at a .192 clip. She led FMU with 3.86 points per set, and also served six aces and recorded 3 block assists.  She had 14 kills and a .355 hitting percentage in season-opening 4-set win over Shorter and 15 kills in a 4-set win over West Georgia.  She helped lead FMU to its first 3-0 since 1997 with three wins at the Erskine College Tournament.
