Freshman middleblocker Caroline Lucas of the Francis Marion University volleyball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 24-30, 2022.

Lucas, a native of Easley, S.C., averaged 4.00 kills and 0.83 blocks per set in two matches last week with a .308 hitting percentage. She posted a career-high equaling 14 kills with a .379 hitting percentage in Saturday's 3-0 win over Belmont Abbey College.

For the season, she ranks 13th in the conference in blocks (0.74), 16th in hitting percentage (.215), and 22nd in kills per set (2.24).

Francis Marion will conclude its regular-season schedule with a 6 p.m. road match at Chowan University on Tuesday (Nov. 1).  The Patriots will then host a Conference Carolinas Tournament match on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. against an opponent yet to be determined.
