Sophomore Caroline Thompkins of the Francis Marion University women's cross country team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 10-16, 2022.

Running in the Bulldog Stampede Meet hosted by Wingate University on Oct.14, the Conway, S.C., native registered a personal-best time for 6,000-meters as she placed 23rd in a time of 27:55.3.  She helped lead the Patriots to a fourth-place showing in the team standings.

Francis Marion will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 22) at the Sand Shark Invitational Meet, hosted by USC Beaufort, in Bluffton, S.C.
