Junior setter Kaylee Gillespie of the Francis Marion University volleyball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 12-18, 2022.

The Pickens, S.C., native averaged 9.77 assists and 2.46 digs per set in three conference matches last week.  She also recorded three kills, five service aces, and six blocks.  Her week included two double-doubles (assists/digs) -- versus Erskine and Emmanuel -- and in the Erskine match she recorded assists on .562 percent of her sets (36/64).

During the week, she moved up two spots on the FMU career assists list to seventh place with 1,779.

Francis Marion will play at Barton College on Wednesday at 6 p.m., before returning home to host a pair of Conference Carolinas matches against the University of Mount Olive on Friday at 6 p.m. and Chowan University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
